Demi Leigh Nel Peters, the contestant from South Africa was crowned Miss Universe yesterday in Las Vegas. She bet 91 other contestants to win the title.

Miss Columbia was the 1st runner up, while Miss Jamaica was the 2nd runner up. She has done a lot of social work for women and has helped to a great extent in solving their issues.

In South Africa, HIV/AIDS is a very big problem and Nel Peters wishes to stand for it and do something to eradicate it completely. She’s definitely very lucky, because apart from the title, she has got an yearlong salary, a luxury apartment in NYC and also many more prizes.
